Solan Fernwick Hunts in Vain for an Ancient City in What He Called His Longest Stream

The FS Fables session ran more than five hours before a server maintenance window ended it, and the streamer said he will take a break day next.

Solan Fernwick spent much of his eighth day on FS Fables, a role-play Minecraft server, digging after an ancient city that never turned up. He played the session as his character, Selwynn Fennwake, and it ran 327 minutes. Near the end he told viewers, “Technically this is my longest stream now,” and called it a new personal record.

The search took the group from one deep dark cave system to the next, using a compass item that points to the biome. One attempt ended at bedrock. Other players concluded that nearby sites had already been raided. Along the way the party stopped for a series of in-character bits. They did squats together in a cauldron of blood, and Selwynn introduced a doll on his belt as his twin brother. The group also bit one another to test whether anyone had become a vampire. Later the players came across what they believed was another resident’s hidden base, and they agreed to leave its contents alone. Near the end they reset a dungeon and defeated its boss, the Undead King.

“I want to focus more on quality streams over quantity streams, I guess.” — Solan Fernwick, explaining his new rule of two break days a week

Before the game, Fernwick said he had almost overslept and ordered a coffee and a sausage roll on stream after viewers sent Super Chats to pay for coffee. He said the fan letters viewers had prepared for his first month were still being reviewed by management. The collection runs to about 126 pages from more than 90 submissions, he said, and he wants to read it with his audience rather than alone. He also said he is giving himself two break days a week so he does not burn out.

Chat answered his break-day plan with “quality over quantity! take care of yourself first!” When the stream closed, viewers wrote “congrats on PR.” The session ended about five hours and 14 minutes in, when the server announced maintenance, and Fernwick sent his viewers on to another streamer in a raid.

He said he would not stream the next day. He planned a *zatsudan*, or chat stream, for later the same day. His tentative plans for next week include at least four more FS Fables episodes, a Cardfight!! Vanguard Dear Days 2 stream with a senior colleague, and Backrooms and REPO collaborations with his unit, all still to be confirmed.
